- Kingdom
-
The rule and reign of God. Anything that expands the message of Jesus Christ across the world. When I say phrases like “doing Kingdom stuff” it is usually means using spiritual gifts (i.e. healing, prophecy, discernment, word of knowledge, etc.) to wage warfare against the enemy. Jesus caused the blind to see, the deaf to hear, the dead to raise, lepers to be cleansed and good news to be preached to the poor. That is Kingdom.
- Word of Knowledge
-
A thought, sense, or feeling given by the Holy Spirit that gives you information about something or someone you could not have otherwise known. For instance, if I have a thought that a woman in a store has intense stomach pain, even though no there is nothing in the natural that would reveal that information to me, I would ask the woman if she has stomach pain and if she says she does that would be a Word of Knowledge. Words of Knowledge can be come in thoughts, feelings, pictures, or pains in your own body that are given to you so that you know what kind of condition, situation, or problem someone is suffering from.
- Old Covenant
-
The Old Covenant is an agreement between the Israelites and God in the Old Testament. The Old Covenant was given when God gave Moses the Ten Commandments. The Old Covenant promised to bless people if they obeyed every rule of the Law, but if they fell short in anyway, then the people would be cursed. The Old Covenant was given to show us that we needed a savior because we couldn’t fulfill our part of the agreement (obeying the Law completely). Thanks be to Jesus we are no longer under the Old Covenant!
- New Covenant
-
The New Covenant is the covenant we live under today. Jesus came to fulfill the requirements of the Old Covenant. To do that, He had to fulfill the Law. Jesus fulfilled the law, and when He shed His blood on the Cross he replaced the Old Covenant with the New Covenant. The main clause of the New Covenant is that for those who believe in Jesus, God will forgive their sins and remember them no more. Under the Old Covenant the only way you could be righteous is if you obeyed the entire law without fault. Under the new covenant the only way you can be righteous is to believe in Jesus and all that He did for you. Thank God we live under the New Covenant!
- Grace
-
The unmerited, undeserved favor of God. Grace is also a person. John 1:17 says, “
The Law was given through Moses, but grace and truth came through the person Jesus Christ.
” Anytime you see me talking about Grace, you can substitute Jesus in for it because Jesus is Grace. Any good gift we get in life that we don’t deserve is grace. Grace is a central theme of the New Testament and is the cornerstone of the New Covenant. Grace is also the ability to do something we couldn’t not do before we received grace.
